Unicorn-inspired foods you should eat before you die

Posted by David Chu on

Unicorns are popular with many people but not many of them know unicorns are sweet addicted - animal. Therefore, unicorn-inspired foods are mostly sweet ones such as cakes, ice creams, chocolate and so on…

Today we’ll figure out what unicorn-inspired foods look like, what they taste and how to make them. Most of those foods you can find easily where to buy but I think it will be more interesting if we can cook together and try to discover what magical ingredients are.

Unicorn cake

Wowww… This cake is so amazing! It’s too adorable that I don’t wanna eat or even touch. The white cream covered outside with rainbow mane and pink horn make the best combination ever.

Are you curious about how to make such cute thing like that? Let’s figure out with me through the video: “HOW TO MAKE A UNICORN CAKE - NERDY NUMMIES” published by Rosanna Pansino:

Unicorn macarons

Look at those macarons! They are so stunning!

Aww… How can people eat them? Those macarons look like fluffy unicorns smiling shyly with rosy cheeks (but actually you can create your own unicorn face in the process of making cookies). What filled between two adorable unicorn faces is the mixture of buttercream, egg, and sugar (or whatever you want). After all, the little macarons are rolled into a colorful candy bowl in order to make a rainbow covered around.

To be more specific, let’s watch the tutorial on how to make Unicorn macarons released by Rosanna Pansino on Youtube

Unicorn cupcake

There are many kinds of unicorn cupcakes but I just introduce you two main types: cupcakes with unicorn faces on top and unicorn - shaped cupcakes.

So basically, you need to know how to make a cupcake first, thus we’re gonna walk through Fiona’s tutorial in order to make super quick and easy vanilla cupcakes

150g (2/3 Cup) Unsalted Butter
150g (2/3 Cup) Caster Sugar
150g (1 and 1/5 cup) Self-raising flour
3 eggs
2 tbsp milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder

Then follow the recipe she guided us in this video below:

Now you have little cupcakes on your hands. Please prepare enough ingredients and then Jemma will conduct you to create unicorn’s horn and ears. She did every single step slowly and gave us very detailed instructions. Thank you, Jemma!

Cupcakes with unicorn face on top

Just a little different from Jemma’s tutorial but you need to cover the cupcakes by white cream first. You generate horn and ears but add another step of drawing unicorn’s face first. The result will be beautiful like that:

And follow the instructions below:

Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino

April 2017, Starbucks made Unicorn-lovers crazy with their new drink: The Unicorn Frappuccino. However, the drink was available only for a limited time, ending on April 23, 2017. Although criticized for having too much sugar, the unicorn frappuccino was sold out on most stores before its ending time.
